Saikichi’s store in Kesennuma: Many Kimonos were being hung out to dry in an aisle of a temporary office building. The Tsunami swept everything away from the previous premises. Various different household items were not only washed away, but drenched with sea water & covered in mud. The only thing unharmed was a chest of draws made of Paulowina wood. And inside it were the Kimonos.
